The people of Navenbi have always required their slaves to labour in the fields to tend their crops and animals. Without the slaves there is no real source of income, so their masters place strict measures to keep them in line and stop them from escaping. If a slave is not out working it is locked inside a barn or the basement of a house. Oftentimes, there will be vicious dogs guarding the only entrance to their “home”. Many a slave has plotted their escape, but have failed dismally.
However, there is no safety outside of the town. Wolves stalk the area, looking for their next meal. There is no shade to protect you from the sweltering heat of the sun, nowhere to protect you from the dangers of the night. Leaving Navenbi can mean leaving your life.
However, rumours have been heard of a third faction, ones trying to lead the slaves away from their masters, to safer places, to the towns outside of Navenbi. Yet, a man’s slave is his property – stealing a slave can mean death, or a lifetime in jail. Maybe even being enslaved yourself.
Will the slaves be led to freedom, or will they suffer a life of torture? Their destiny lies in your hands.
