In the beginning, there were only the gods, and the void they lived in. Kelros the Peaceful gathered up his brothers and sisters, Keya, the Goddess of Nature, Daman, Father of the Dwarves and Master of metal and jewel, Sylva, Goddess of the Moon and Mother of the Elves, and Dakarc the Proud, brother to Kelros. Together they called together the chaotic bits of the void and made their home, the Heavenly Realm.
Time passed and their homes were built, each god making his part of the realm to his liking. Music and beauty was endless in this place of heavenly contentment but still, they felt something was missing, a gap they overlooked. Calling them together, Kelros took council with his brethren and deemed that they needed to make more, their task was not done. Dakarc agreed and the brothers combined their powers to create a fiery ball, the start of a planet. Daman cooled the fires enough so that rock hardened over the planet and forced the fire to the center, giving some place to stand up. Keya than crafted her part, pushing plants, animals and creatures to awaken and begin living, so beings began to inhabit the planet.
Sylva made the moon and Kelros the sun, to finish of their greatest work. Tired and proud of their accomplishments the gods went back home. There, Sylva made a surprising move by saying they should form a council to rule their domain and all their works, led by Kelros. Dakarc insisted that they didn’t, as he was fiercely independent and Kelros was loathing taking on this mantle but Sylva convinced him to take it if they all agreed to it. All the other gods agreed to the proposal and Dakarc had no choice but to submit. But forever after he hated his brother and the other gods, it was then he began plotting his way to power.
Age passed and the creatures grew to fullness. Humans, elves and dwarves roamed their various lands, building cities, and furthering their societies. Kelros ordered that each god go down and meet those they had agreed to watch over. He and Dakarc went to see the humans, while Daman the dwarves, Sylva the elves, and Keya the other creatures in nature.
They talked with the leaders of the various races and discussed what they should do before departing. Unknown to them Dakarc had gained a dark power, one to rival his brother Kelros, the strongest of them all. Subverting a mage named Varen, he set in motion his plan to cut the gods off from the mortals and rule over all creation. He sent him to spy on the lead human kingdom of Telros, and ensure that the old king died, leaving the greatest threat in the mortal realm out of the way, all the while he hid his army in the nether regions of the world, waiting to strike.
When the gods came back to their realm, Dakarc asked his brother to come with him, as he had something on his mind. Kelros, caring deeply about his brother, agreed and met him in his realm. He came to the meeting spot only to meet an armored and sword-wielding god. Before he could even react, Dakarc killed Kelros, the stage of his plan to eliminate the greatest threat to him, and begin his plan. A surprise attack took the gods off-guard and countless angels were slain by an endless army of demons before they could react and counter attack. War broke out in heaven and thunder and lightning raged.
This was all part of his plan, for he knew the gods drew their strength from the mortal realm, as they used most of their power to make it. So, he sent his most valued servant, Varen, to begin the invasion of the mortal realms. Leading his dark armies, Varen plunged into the kingdoms with a vengeance, taking every race off-guard. The elves were almost annihilated and several human kingdoms fell before sufficient resistance was brought up to fight him.
In all this chaos and war, a lone figure holds the key for ending the war and saving all of creation: Valen Kael, current ruler of Telros. If he dies or falls to darkness, then all is lost, for he holds the key to the one thing Dakarc fears: Kelros' power.
